Recall that in 2015 a question was asked on the House floor whether anyone in that body had read the compact. Only 3 representatives raised their hands. Thus, the Montana legislature’s vote, in addition to being unconstitutional for lack of a supermajority, was also uninformed.

Mercury (officials), by their own admission on their website, describe themselves as a “high stakes public strategy firm who use their expertise and reach to gain competitive advantage for clients.”
Is it possible that politics in Montana are little more than a corrupt microcosm of federal politics? Were the shenanigans that were pulled in the 2015 Montana legislature by “responsible republicans” to pass Medicaid Expansion and the CSKT Compact just the tip of the corruption iceberg? The answer to these questions is a resounding YES.
