(San Diego) Across the Southwest border, the crackdown on illegal crossings announced in April 2017 by U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions is gaining traction, as immigration caseloads soar and overburdened judicial districts struggle to keep up. Detention space is reaching capacity, courthouses are scrambling to maintain security, and some judges say they have reached their limit.
(The Mercury News) – The top leadership of the Department of Veterans Affairs is in turmoil, after President Donald Trump ousted his first secretary and nominated his personal doctor, who dropped out of consideration amid controversy. Trump has yet to nominate anyone else.
With Trump set to unveil his vision for lowering drug prices as part of his “American Patients First” initiative, moments ago the department of Health and Human Services released a blueprint plan on drug prices.
